Recently, the multinational company ExxonMobil announced plans to build its first large-scale chemical recycling facility for plastic waste in Baytown (Texas, USA), which is expected to be operational by the end of 2022. The facility will have the capacity to recycle 30,000 tons of plastic waste per year. Karen McKee, president of ExxonMobil Chemical Company, highlighted the important role that reliable, advanced recycling capabilities will play in helping to address plastic waste in the environment.”
As more and more chemical giants enter the recycling industry to promote sustainability, chemical recycling methods have been a direction of research and development for these chemical companies, but in terms of recycling efficiency, more physical recycling methods are currently used for waste plastics.
When it comes to the role of advanced physical recycling capabilities for plastic waste recycling, EPS recycling machines are impossible to avoid this topic. When EPS recycling machines were not yet popular, waste EPS could only be disposed of by traditional landfill methods or incineration. So incineration produces harmful gases that pollute the air, landfill EPS in the soil is difficult to degrade, taking up valuable land resources for hundreds of years. Advanced EPS recycling machine can turn these EPS that should go to landfill into a treasure. After two key steps of crushing and compaction, the EPS becomes a high-density mass. These blocks are easier to transport than the previous EPS and can also be sold to PS particle manufacturers as raw material for PS particles.
The GREENMAX EPS compactor is a typical recycling machine that reduces EPS to 1 in 50 or 1 in 90 of its original volume and is very green in the compression process. The multi-faceted design of the machine makes it easy to operate and safe enough. In addition, GREENMAX is able to customize the machine according to the customer’s specific needs, such as adding additional accessories: conveyor belts and silos. The conveyor belt with silo system allows to control the speed of loading and compaction in order to obtain the perfect EPS blocks, and with almost 1000 companies worldwide, GREENMAX is a very reliable brand.
As mentioned above, GREENMAX machines are equipped with advanced and reliable recycling capabilities and are designed to contribute to EPS recycling, actively meeting today’s sustainable development concepts.
